Arthur was born on July 12, 1935 in Hendersonville, NC. He was the son of the late Arthur John Redden, Sr. and Lena Ruth Redden. He was a 1953 graduate of Hendersonville High School and proud to be on the 1952 Bearcat state championship basketball team. He joined the United States Army and after successfully completing advanced Military Police training in Camp Gordon, Georgia, he was stationed in Berlin, Germany. It was in Berlin that he married Anne Alexander Redden on August 9, 1956 at the Berlin Command Chapel. He served as a Military Policeman guarding the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin. After serving for two years, he returned to the United States and enrolled in Western Carolina University.

Kenneth Wade Garren, 75, beloved Dad, “Papaw”, brother, and friend peacefully passed into the arms of Jesus on October 26, 2022. To prevent spread of the COVID-19 and ease the minds of our family’s, staff, and the public. As always our top priority is being available to service you and your family. As well as to provide a safe and comfortable environment for you, your family, and guest. A funeral service will be held, Saturday September 10, 2022 at eleven o’clock in the morning at Hendersonville First Baptist Church, with Reverend Steve Scoggins officiating. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Ursula “Jean” Reis and her brother, Chuck Reis.
This was actually my 2nd time in a 5 year span… that I have had the opportunity to use this Funeral home. They work very well with the Army and Marines ( my brother and sister’s respective branches) Bob and his staff went above and beyond for my family. I live out of state and Bob worked with myself and my family to make sure that things were taken care of. The staff were very understanding of our wishes and really welcomed us the day of.

My Moms services were beautiful and they accommodated us with anything we needed. Jeffrey was easily available and even supported me with any guidance I needed for my Moms church services. Haley, Shellie, Tina, Jim, and Jackie were wonderful and welcomed us with open arms with anything we needed during the planning, viewing, and services. Forrest shared some funny stories which made by brother and I laugh, which was needed.
